The trc promoter was obtained by the insertion of 1 bp into the 16 bp sequence between the -35 and -10 consensus sequences of the tac promoter, in order to obtain the optimal distance of 17 bp. The promoter carries the sequence ranging from -35 up to nucleotide in position -1 from transcription start site.
