Amp (bla) promoter
The bla promotor is a weak constitutive promoter used for expression of the ampicillin resistance gene in Escherichia coli. This promoter was originally found in transposon Tn2660 upstream of the initiation codon of the structural beta-lactamase (bla) gene (Chen and Clowes, 1984). This promoter can also be used for expression of other foreign genes in E. coli.
